Most boss fights in Armored Corps 6 have a few small tricks to defeat them, but offer you the flexibility to use whatever AC build you want. However, there are exceptions, including the Ice Worm boss fight, which comes during the mission to destroy the Ice Worm in Chapter 3. This is the last mission of this chapter and if you do not come into this fight with the right weapon setup, you will fail the mission. Here’s everything you need to know about defeating the Ice Worm boss fight in Armored Corps 6.
how to beat iceworm
For this fight, you will need the shoulder weapon VE-60SNA Stun Needle Launcher, which automatically unlocks when you complete the previous mission. This weapon is essential for stunning the Ice Worm, so you’ll want to keep it equipped. For the rest of your weapon slots, you’ll want to focus on high damage weapons like the Grenade Launcher or Missile Launcher. This is because there is basically a damage check that you have to pass, otherwise you automatically fail the mission. Don’t worry though, you won’t have to fight any minor enemies during this mission, as you’ll have some companions to take care of that. allso red this articals
The mission structure is simple, you have to take down Ice Worm’s shield by shooting him in the face with the Stun Needle Launcher. The worm moves a lot and you need to hit the face – the game tells you the head, but the face requires a direct hit. Just wait until the ice worm stops moving and shoot. It takes a few moments to fire after activating the Stun Needle, so you need to line up the shot a bit.
Once you remove the shield, another companion will fire a giant railgun at the worm, temporarily stunning it. You’ll want to shoot the worm in its face when it’s down, because that’s the only time it deals damage. You only have to do this three or four times before the railgun starts to fail. If you don’t eliminate the Ice Worm on the last attempt, the mission is automatically failed. With your explosive weapons, fire at Ice Worm’s face as many times as possible. Stun Needles do a decent amount of damage and you have enough ammo to use during the damage phase. If you find that you’re not doing enough damage to complete the mission, you’ll probably need to buy some high damage output weapons in the shop. The more damage the weapon does, the better.
